Shaping the future of plastics
From toolmaking and tool maintenance to injection moulding and equipped with a Class 8 cleanroom. Andel Plastics have been providing intelligently engineered quality solutions to our customers since 1975.
We have the imagination, expertise and experience to realise your ideas through an intelligent approach to component design.
In our experience, building the most effective working relationships with our customers, means getting involved in a project from the concept stage. Customers come to us with an initial concept which can be as simple as a sketch, right up to a 3D solid CAD model.
Being involved in the early design process and understanding the mechanical requirements and working environment of a component, ensures we can provide a robust solution to production and manufacturing challenges.
The ever increasing demands on our environment means that designs need to be simplified to enable ease of manufacture and reduced post operations. The expertise that we have developed over many years enables our design consultancy to advise at all levels of the design process ensuring an intelligent design fit for purpose.
Also Maxmag has developed a range of materials providing a variety of magnetic strengths and physical properties. Consisting of magnetic micro-powders bonded in a polymer matrix, they are designed to maximise specific properties for diverse applications.
We also manufacture and supply our own Ferrite filled Polypropylene, that has been approved by WRAS for cold water contact.
The quality of an injection moulded component depends on both good component design and the accuracy of the mould tool.
Our design consultancy and precision toolmaking experience allows us to work closely with our customers to produce robust and cost - effective solutions.
Over many years, we have gained a reputation for manufacturing precision engineered tooling to the highest quality and accuracy. Delivering engineering excellence through investment in our people and equipment.
In fact, we are so confident in the quality of our tooling that we provide a ten-year no maintenance guarantee for tools we design, manufacture and mould. (Excluding magnet tooling)
Being in the same production facility, the in-house toolroom gives both Andel Plastics and Maxmag a competitive advantage over other suppliers, reducing leadtimes and downtimes on production and maintenance.
Due to the aggressive nature of the magnetic material, good tool maintenance is key to the lifespan of the tool and quality of the components. Being able to offer this service in-house enhances the productivity of a magnet mould tool.
We have a fully equipped injection moulding facility with twenty one machines ranging from 30 to 200 tonnes.
With a flexible approach to manufacturing, we are able to offer sampling, small batch runs all the way through to volume production and post-operative assembly. Likewise, we mould tools that we have manufactured ourselves or are supplied by our customers.
Our quality control systems meet all the requirements of ISO9001 and we embrace continuous improvement to ensure that these standards are maintained and evolve.
We now also boast a Class 8 Cleanroom ensuring that medical components reach our customers contaminate free.
We have gained an enviable knowledge and wealth of experience of complex insert and overmoulding processes. This experience has ensured that we have the capability to incorporate flexibility into the design of the injection moulding tool, enabling us to accommodate the wider tolerances of metal parts, that are then overmoulded.
Our experience with the insert and overmoulding processes has put us at the forefront of the current trend to replace metal with plastic components. Working closely with our suppliers and customers we have provided intelligently engineered solutions utilising the overmoulding process. Incorporating both metal and plastics to give a value added solution, whilst maintaining the integrity and stability that a normal metal component would provide.
Our new ‘award winning’ Class 8 clean room has been purpose built with the present and future expansion at the forefront of our minds. Helping us achieve a Manufacturing Achievement award in October 2014.
The cleanroom is fully validated and already working with the ISO9001 Quality Standard procedures. Though with quality and reassurance our objective is to implement and achieve certification up to ISO13485 standard within the following 12 months.
We can provide our customers with a complete service of component design, mould tool manufacture, injection moulding, cleanroom inspection and packaging. In addition to this our expertise in post operative assembly means we can also offer assembly and packaging of medical devices. Giving our customers confidence that each device has been manufactured, assembled and packaged under one roof with all the traceability and cost effectiveness that this provides.
We work with our customers to build the relationships that in turn means we understand each others businesses and requirements.Priding ourselves on a flexible approach to manufacture, we welcome large production as well as small batch runs. This philosophy continues within our cleanroom, offering packaging services for bespoke procedure packs requested by individual surgeons, up to large batch supply where the end user is the NHS.
Whatever your market, we can make a significant contribution to your business.
Our ethos is to understand and meet your requirements. Over many years we have formed links with our material suppliers, this ensures we are well placed to manufacture components in not only commodity plastics, but also technically challenging engineering polymers. Allowing us to offer solutions across diverse industries
